How the math works

One ppm in 10,000 gallons takes about 10.2 fl oz of 12.5% liquid chlorine or 2 oz by weight of 65% cal hypo. Scale by gallons and by how many ppm you need. Trichlor and dichlor also add CYA: about 6 ppm for every 10 ppm of chlorine from trichlor, and about 9 ppm from dichlor, so the calculator shows that too.
