How the math works

In 10,000 gallons, about 26 fl oz of 31.45% muriatic acid lowers alkalinity 10 ppm, and 1.4 lb of sodium bicarbonate raises it 10 ppm. Acid also lowers pH, so split large doses across visits and retest. Never mix chemicals, and add chemical to water.
